Description
Dear Learner,
This module, designed for Grade 12 students in Ethiopia, seeks to provide a comprehensive understanding of essential physics concepts and their application according to the Grade 12 Physics curriculum. It aims to prepare students for national university entrance exams while also deepening their grasp of physics principles and their practical significance, equipping them to be knowledgeable citizens of Ethiopia.
It contains two units, the first unit introduces the foundational concepts of electromagnetism, including magnets, magnetic fields, and their interactions with electric currents. Students will explore electromagnetic induction, Faraday’s Law, and the role of transformers, culminating in an understanding of practical applications and safety measures in electromagnetism.
The second unit covers the essential principles of electronics, beginning with semiconductors and the functions of diodes. Students will learn about rectification, the role of transistors, integrated circuits, and the basics of logic gates and circuits, ending with an exploration of the applications of electronics in modern technology.
Generally, this module covers essential concepts in electromagnetism and basic electronics, beginning with an exploration of magnets, magnetic fields, and their interaction with electric currents. It delves into electromagnetic induction, Faraday’s Law, and transformers, highlighting practical applications and safety. The module then shifts to electronics, discussing semiconductors, diodes, rectification, transistors, integrated circuits, and logic gates, providing a foundational understanding of their roles and applications in modern technology.
Assessment Method
In this online module for grade 12 physics, learners engage in a variety of interactive activities designed to deepen their understanding of fundamental physics concepts. Quizzes, mid exam and final exam challenge your comprehension and problem-solving skills, while discussion forums encourage collaboration and peer- learning. Through these activities, learners not only grasp the basics of physics but also develop critical thinking abilities essential for scientific inquiry.
